This home in the narrow alleys of Jaisalmer in the Indian state of Rajasthan is guarded by a cow. And guarded well, by the looks of him. I certainly kept my distance.
Cardboard did seem to be their snack of choice. I guess that makes a guard cow quite a bit cheaper to take care of than a guard dog. Daniel McBane recently contributed to world literature by posting..Tooth Vendor in Marrakech’s Djemaa El-Fna

I was only joking–I actually saw quite a bit of grass in the Thar desert. Besides, as Chubby Chatterbox mentioned above, the cows really seem to enjoy eating cardboard…
C’mon Daniel. Were you scared of this little cow:)? Don’t be silly 😛 Agness recently contributed to world literature by posting..First Impression of Guilin, China
Absolutely loved stumbling upon this quirky sight in Jaisalmer! The cow taking charge of guarding the home is both amusing and fascinating. It’s incredible how animals can take on unexpected roles.

I think I met this cow on my recent trip to Jaisalmer. They seem to like eating cardboard boxes.

I agree, the cow will scare the thieves away. Mind you, to shoo the cow away all you need to do is to throw little bit of grass and you’re done.
